I have been diabetic all of my life but no doctor would confirm it. It wasn't until my husband noticed a problem and we went to Baptist Hospital in Knoxville TN, that we had a wonderful ER Nurse, GREAT doctor and awesome support group. I was told I was diabetic just before surgery and when I woke up I found I was happy and had no foot pain. It was freeing to finally know what had been wrong with me all of my life. I took to being a diabetic like a duck takes to water.
After 8 years of being on insulin I:
Skin Dive/ snorkel, Day Hike, climb waterfalls,Bowl,Body Surf,cook, eat, sew and do all the tings I enjoy.
The key is remembering its like your eye or hair color, it's a part of you. And you dont let it control you, you control it!
